Meet Our Team

  • Carla Christman

Dr. Christman is a 1996 graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine and is the owner of Healthy Pet Veterinary Clinic. While she started her veterinary career at a large animal practice where she took care of horses and all types of farm animals, Dr. Christman opened the doors at Healthy Pet Veterinary Clinic in 2001 and hasn't looked back since.  Carla loves Madison with it's the eclectic people and never ending list of things to do out on the town.

Dr. Christman is a member of the following organizations:

Dr. Christman works closely with several animal rescue groups and greatly enjoys being able to help animals in need.  At home you would often find Dr. Christman out in her garden or just being outside enjoying a warm summer day.  Exercise and Doctor Who are some of her two greatest passions.  She also shares her home with several pets: Including two dogs, four cats, three ferrets and four guinea pigs.  Dr. Christman's personal passion for small mammals is why Healthy Pet has become a premier facility in the care of small mammal pets.

  • Mike
    Operations Manager

Mike joined the clinic team in late 2015 after being in management positions with several other companies in the Madison area for nearly 30 years.  Mike also had a, 'past life' that included being a Firefighter/EMT and a Police and Fire Communicator/911 Dispatcher for over 17 years.  Mike has found that working in veterinary care is not that different than working in public safety.    Everybody must work together as a team and trust each other to provide excellent quality patient and client care.  That has been and continues to be our goal every day.

Read What Our Clients Say

  • "This clinic is very clean, friendly, and gentle. My Guinea Pig Bear had a tumor and they have worked hard to care for him and follow up to be sure he is healing well from surgery removal as well as be available to answer any questions I have.I was even able to set up an affordable payment plan for his medical bills. All in all a very trustworthy Vet Clinic."

  • "Very nice and clean clinic with helpful staff. We used them to board our rabbit while we were on vacation. They have a dedicated rabbit room with multiple large cages. Rabbits get daily individual 'out-of-cage' exercise time."
