Laura L. Oxley, DVM
Dr. Oxley graduated from UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999, prior to which she received her BS in Biology/Zoology from UW-Platteville. She is a 13-year resident of Madison, having practiced in and around the Madison area since graduation.
Dr. Oxley is a longstanding member of the following organizations:
- American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)
- Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association (WVMA)
- Dane County Veterinary Medical Association (DCVMA)
- Association of Veterinarians for Animal Rights (AVAR)
- Dane County Humane Society (DCHS) - Supporter and volunteer vet surgeon
- Dane County Friends of Ferals (DCFoF) - Supporter and volunteer vet surgeon
- Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC)
- World Wildlife Fund (WWF)
- Humane Society of the United States (HSUS)
Her professional interests include Canine and Feline Behavior, Alternative Therapies/Herbology, Pain Management, Oral and Soft-tissue Surgery, and Client Education.
When not focusing on veterinary medicine, she enjoys traveling with her husband Aaron to exotic places where they hike, backpack, mountain bike, camp, ski, and canoe/kayak. Regular running maintains her chi, to the extent that she has participated in three marathons. Dr. Oxley also enjoys staying home, since it's filled with three cats (Pipper, Stubby, and Mr. Rugby), as well as Tippy, the smooth coated collie.
