Alexis M. Lorenz, DVM
Dr. Lorenz is a 2005 graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine.
She spent her childhood years in rural northern Maine, attended high school in Hudson, Ohio, and completed her undergraduate education at The Ohio State University, earning her B.S., as well as a degree in Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology (EEOB).
She is a member of the following organizations:
- American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA)
- American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)
- Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association (WVMA)
- Dane County Veterinary Medical Association (DCVMA)
- Dane County Humane Society (DCHS)
Dr. Lorenz began working at the clinic soon after moving to Madison in September 2005. Her professional interests include dogs, cats, small mammal pets, and birds of prey. She has spent time in Thailand's Elephant Conservation Center working with wounded elephants, and someday hopes to return there for further work.
Among Dr. Lorenz's many hobbies and interests, which include hiking, biking, jogging, and traveling, she spends time at home with her tabby cat, Xena, and two hermit crabs, Sampson and Fred.
